In my last year of high school, I found in translation a means to combine my love for writing, languages and music and I have basically been teaching myself the art of translation since then. In my first year of college, I took an English course which featured a short translation segment. I was then told by my teacher that in order to be a successful translator, one must be as good a writer as the original author.

As a result, you may notice that I favor a more literary approach over word by word translations, so as not to lose the original tone and intention; I also pay close attention to the wording and flow of my own writing. Furthermore, I view my translations as work in progress, as I constantly edit them as I further my knowledge of the English and Japanese languages. That said, at the end of the day they are merely a labor of love, but I do hope that they will help in crossing the language barrier somewhat!
